r to the Dundee Institute of Architects. Promoting architecture across Tayside and North East Fife. The DIA or Dundee Institute of Architects is one of six Chapters of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland. It was conceived by architects from Dundee, in 1884 and has grown to represent an area stretching from Anstruther in the East to Loch Earn in the West, and Glenrothes in the South to Blair Atholl in the North. The DIA will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2009.
Presidents Welcome Presidents Welcome “We are delighted that you have taken time to visit our new and refreshed web site. As a key component of the RIAS, the Institute seeks to promote architecture and improve the quality of both our built and natural environments. The DIA seeks to achieve those goals by a number of means encouraging education initiatives, general awareness, professional development, liaison with local government, professional and other groups. This website represents one component of those efforts, which are underpinned by the annual DIA Awards and our quarterly magazine DIAlogue. Those awards and our magazine have gone from strength to strength over recent years and underline both the talent which is available locally and of course many clients’ desire for exemplary design. Both the DIA Awards and DIAlogue are illustrated elsewhere in this website. The DIA is here to help and wishes to engage more fully with clients, practices, architects, and the general public across Tayside and North East Fife. We hope that this website will be a significant step towards exactly that ambition.” Willie
